The Premier League side have been without captain Kyle Walker since February, with the 19-year-old suspended for two games following his arrest in December on suspicion of assaulting a woman.
Walker’s absence has prompted Tottenham to re-sign Christian Eriksen, a summer signing, while Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe have been named as options ahead of the new season.
The move for Adebahor has been criticised by the Spurs hierarchy as a bid for a player who was sold for just £13.7m last summer.
However, Spurs have said that it would be “unfair” for Ade to have a price tag of £100,000 and that they would be prepared to offer him a further £50,000 in compensation.
Eriksen has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane, with Tottenham likely to be linked to a number of other clubs this summer.
