The 2019-20 NBA season kicks off on April 6th.
That’s the day before the NBA All-Star Game and the start of the 2019 NBA Summer League.
The league has released a series of teaser clips for the first three games of the season.
They show players like Karl-Anthony Towns, DeMarcus Cousins and DeMar DeRozan, the latter of whom could be playing in his second NBA season.
The league released a teaser clip of DeRazza Williams, the former Minnesota Timberwolves guard, playing for the New Orleans Pelicans, the same team that drafted him in the 2017 draft.
We’re also getting glimpses of a slew of players who have not yet been officially announced, including Kevin Durant, who is still recovering from surgery on his left knee.
That means Durant could be participating in the 2019-19 season, but will likely be a free agent after the 2018-19 campaign.
Here are the players who will be playing for their respective teams in the first few weeks of the NBA season:DeMarcus Cousins, Sacramento Kings: The Kings have signed Cousins to a max contract, the first time a player signed a max deal in franchise history.
He’ll earn $35.8 million this season.
DeMar DeMar, New Orleans Hornets: The Hornets have signed DeMar to a contract extension.
The team also recently added a veteran big man in Gerald Henderson.
DeMarcus’ deal will make him the highest-paid player in the NBA this season, surpassing Shaquille O’Neal’s deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.
He’ll make $23.6 million next season, making him the top-paid forward in the league.
The Hornets also signed free agent center Al Jefferson, a veteran of 13 seasons who was the first overall pick in the 2013 draft.
The Pelicans also signed forward C.J. Miles, a free agency addition.
Cousins’ deal is for a max of $72.8, with a player option for a $15.6-million signing bonus in 2019.
The 2018-2019 season is set to begin on March 11, 2019, the last day of the regular season.
That could be when the Pelicans and Kings meet in the regular-season finale.
The Kings will then have to play their next game, on March 18 against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Pelicans and Clippers will then play their first two games in March.
In other NBA news, the 2018 NBA All, Euroleague and French Basketball Championship are on the 2018 schedule.
They will be broadcast on ESPN and NBATV.ESPN will air the Euroleague, which starts with a tournament that includes Russia, Turkey and Ukraine.
